The continuing quest for sustainable materials and ways of living inside the design industry lead me to KOYAKAL a startup. It produced lifestyle utility products like planters, wall clocks, lampshades etc with different varieties of bottle gourd. Throughout the period of association with this company, designing and experimenting products and spaces with bottle gourd as a key component has been a ritual, among one of those rituals I Intervened the forms of bottle gourd into a Bluetooth speaker. The new design, form, organic nature and utility generated a lot of interest in the market. To satisfy the needs of and tap the potential out of the market, Team Koyakal planned a series of exhibitions inside Bangalore. Facing problems in real-time, learning from those helped me identify opportunities and the under-explored areas of retail design and space manipulation. 

 

Koyakal is a startup that was started by the set if seniors of mine from the National Institute of Design, R&D Campus, Bangalore. I had been an absolutely one good ride of exploration  at Koyal and I majorly played a role in terms of design at this startup as an Innovation design head which involved things starting from knowing in out of the bottle guards to the business, to the new technologies and to innovate the designs by having the aid of all previous skills mentioned.

 

As a part of this process, I got the privilege to do the research and development of a lot of new topics in terms of both bottle guards and in the technology and the combination of both which were usually the end products. These products involved creating the stands and lights for their native lamps and innovating clocks, Bluetooth speakers etc

 

These products where highly in demand and were sold when they were being displayed in the exhibits and also had got a very positive feedback on the same.
